Wellness, wellbeing and being well, are all vital to our health, whichever way you look at it. To understand both is vital. Wellbeing, is the state of being comfortable, healthy or happy. Wellness, is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better outcomes. Travel certainly falls under wellbeing, and now that we are traveling again, we want to share our favourite experiences on each island, so that you can start new habits to take home with you to enhance your wellness practices.

Kauai

A wonderful start to any holiday is to relax, de-stress and float away.  Your personal float pod is filled with a solution of Epsom salts and water, which removes the feeling of gravity and helps relax the spine, inducing deep relaxation while lowering the stress hormones.  For those that are active with daily exercise, or for those that have explored the island already, float therapy is the fastest way to recover from physical activities. Anara Spa at Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i offers float therapy as one of its signature treatments.

Maui

The Polynesian ritual is the ultimate indulgence while on Maui. Spa Helani at The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas offers ancient traditions that will transport you through the sacred Polynesian Islands.  Coconut shells and white sand with a Tahitian vanilla scrub starts your ritual off.  You are then transported to Bora Bora for a slow and powerful lomi-lomi (massage) using heated shells.  Finishing with a restorative application of golden manoi oil, your personal ritual comes to an end.
