Overview of Freeport, Bahamas

Freeport, located on Grand Bahama Island in the Bahamas, is a Caribbean destination known for its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and colorful marine life. Beyond its natural beauty, Freeport does not provide many options for a fully inclusive and accessible experience. It is a small, flat island that caters to passengers from its cruise line port.  At the Port Lucaya Marketplace you’ll find your typical array of souvenir stands and a few places to eat and access to these establishments vary widely. If you have a mobility impairment you will need assistance in some areas.

Accessible Transportation: A Must-Plan Ahead

Accessible transportation is scarce, but if you contact Fran’s Travel and Tour ahead of your trip, you can reserve accessible transportation and even book an island tour.
